Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: September 20, 2026
Meme Daily News publishes source-linked news, original memes, and AI-assisted editorial content at www.memedailynews.com. This policy explains how Meme Daily News handles information when you browse, sign in, participate, or contact our team.
Google sign-in and the information we receive
Reading the public news feed does not require a Google account. If you choose Google sign-in, we request only the openid and email permissions. Google provides a unique account identifier, your email address, email-verification status, and authentication information. For editor access, we also check your Google Workspace domain. We do not request your Google password, Gmail messages, Drive files, contacts, calendar, or permission to post to your Google account.
We use this information to authenticate you, connect your votes and saved memes across visits, attribute comments to a consistent reader identity, prevent abuse, and restrict the editorial desk to authorized patelzick.com Workspace accounts. A reader session contains your Google account identifier; an editor session also contains your email and Workspace domain. We verify the email returned at reader sign-in but do not save it in your reader session or engagement records.
Votes, saved memes, and comments are associated with hashed identifiers derived from your Google account identifier. These are pseudonymous identifiers, not anonymous data. Approved comments display a generated reader name and their text and date publicly; your Google email is not displayed. Vote totals are public, while individual voting records and saved collections are not published.
Other information you provide
Contact forms store your name, email, inquiry category, message, and submission time so our team can respond. If you separately opt into a waitlist or digest, we store your email, signup time, and consent record. Google sign-in alone does not subscribe you to email updates. Comments and messages may be reviewed by our editorial team; do not include private or sensitive information in public comments.
Cookies, browser storage, and analytics
We use secure, HTTP-only cookies for sign-in: the temporary Google sign-in flow lasts up to 10 minutes, reader sessions up to 8 hours, and Google editor sessions up to 7 days. We also use cookies for other supported editor sign-in methods. Clearing this site's cookies ends your browser's session. Browser storage can hold saved story references, pending vote or save actions, and comment drafts; you can remove these through your browser settings.
Our first-party analytics count story views, clicks, shares, copies, and downloads. We process IP addresses and browser information to derive a daily hashed analytics identifier and to limit duplicate events and form abuse. These analytics do not use your Google account identifier. Hosting providers may process IP addresses, request details, and operational logs to deliver and protect the service. Google Fonts receives ordinary connection information when your browser loads our fonts.
Sharing, service providers, and AI
Google handles authentication; Vercel provides hosting and private application storage. Our email provider, Resend, processes email details when used to deliver sign-in messages. Providers process the information necessary to operate their services. Authorized team members may access information to support users, review comments, and protect the service. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or necessary to address security incidents or protect legal rights.
We do not sell Google user data, use it for targeted or personalized advertising, or send it to our editorial AI tools. Our AI news and image workflows use source material and editorial inputs, not Google sign-in data. Google user data is not used to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI or machine-learning models. We do not access Google Workspace content APIs.
Meme Daily News's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Retention and security
We do not persist Google OAuth access tokens or refresh tokens. Authentication responses are processed to establish the time-limited sessions described above. Engagement records, comments, inquiries, and subscription records can remain stored until removed or no longer needed for their stated purpose; they do not currently have an automatic deletion schedule. Operational records may remain as needed for security, legal obligations, or backup recovery. We use HTTPS, secure session cookies, access controls, and private application storage, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and deletion requests
You can undo a vote or unsave a meme using the same controls while signed in. To request access, correction, deletion of your account-associated activity or comments, or removal from an email list, use our contact form and select “Privacy or data deletion.” Tell us which records or features are involved. We may ask you to verify control of the relevant account before acting; never send a password or Google token. Because reader emails are not stored with engagement records, an email address alone may not identify those records.
You can remove Meme Daily News's Google connection through your Google Account connections. Removing the connection does not automatically delete activity already stored by Meme Daily News or end an existing site session; clear this site's cookies to end that session, and contact us to request stored-data deletion. Public comments already copied or shared elsewhere may remain outside our control.
Children, changes, and contact
The service is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to request its removal. We will update this page and its date when our practices change. Send privacy questions and requests to the Meme Daily News team through our contact form.
